This original pepper comes from the highlands of Banasuras (Northeast Kerala). The particularly high-quality pepper plants grow on the fertile soils near the Banasura Sagar Dam under ideal climate conditions and reach heights of up to 12 meters (typical pepper cultivation heights are about 3-4 meters). The harvest quantities of this late-harvest pepper are extremely low at 2 tons per year.
The exceptionally large berries of the Banasura Highland Pepper evoke associations with black tea, herbs, and leather. Its flavor is characterized by a combination of harmonious, fruity aromas with a pleasantly bitter note and a warm spiciness. We recommend it as an all-rounder, very suitable for use in a grinder. It pairs especially well with dark meat.
